At the end of last year, our Bohemian Pilsner was awarded a gold medal at a large European Beer Competition which was blind taste judged by some of the most highly trained Beer Sommeliers, Cicerones and Buyers around.
This accolade has been fantastic for us as a little brewery in Bridgend but it made us decide that the Bohemian Pilsner deserved a rebrand to make the label more in line with the definition of Bohemian.
After some deliberation it got us thinking about how challenging the past 12 months must have been for local artists!?!? Galleries, showrooms, exhibitions and shops have all been closed which has left many with no income.
We know first-hand how character building it has been as a brewery. We have diversified and changed the business model so much over the past 12 months to get by and we can now hopefully see light at the end of the tunnel. We do however recognise that some industries and people simply couldn’t make those changes.
We will never be able to thanks those that have supported us during this time enough but we can at the very least try to pay it forward and help another industry that has also had a tough time of it.
As a result and from this day on, the Bohemian Pilsner bottles and Mini Kegs will always adorn a piece of artwork that has been produced by a local artist. A copy of a submitted piece which the artist feels represents their work best will cover the full Bohemian Pilsner label. Each bottle will also have the artists name and their chosen method of contact on the label.
It is our hope that through showcasing local independent artists’ works through the medium of a bottle or mini keg of Award Winning Bohemian pilsner, the purchaser will want to find out more about these talented individuals. It is our hope that the purchasers may reach out to the artists and commission an original, buy a print or at the very least it stimulates a conversation about the art and the buyers interpretation of it.
As said, this is an ongoing project and we hope to showcase many artists work in time to come. Each and every label is individually printed in high resolution and then hand applied to the bottles and mini kegs to give the best representation of the artwork as possible.
